There are an approx of 1001 wedding rituals that are the part of the typical Bengali Matrimonial<\/strong><\/a>. They are categorized as pre-wedding, wedding and post wedding rituals<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre-wedding rituals and customs in Bengali Matrimony<\/strong><\/a> for Manglik of Non Manglik<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Patri Patra:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In Hinduism wedding is not allowed between the persons who are belonging to the different Gotras. A Prohit (priest) is consulted and he would be performing some significant rituals with lord Narayan\u2019s ideol. It is performed the same way whether for Manglik or Non Manglik brides of grooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ashirbaad (Blessing):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This is the significant wedding ceremony where the couple whether being Manglik or Non Manglik is blessed by elders from both the bride\u2019s and groom\u2019s family with trefoil and husked rice. The families from both the sides exchange gifts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gaye Holud:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This precious ceremony is done at the houses of both the bride and grooms one or two day before the auspicious wedding. Here the groom\u2019s family excluding the groom visits the bride\u2019s house with jewelry, other gift items, turmeric paste, Henna (Gae Halud Tattva). The henna (Mehndi) is applied to the bride\u2019s hand and the turmeric paste is applied to the bride\u2019s body. The similar Bengali ritual is performed at the groom\u2019s house where the bride\u2019s family visit\u2019s the groom\u2019s house with interesting gifts which are called as Adhibas Tattva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vridhi Puja:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This pooja is performed one day before the wedding occasion where the ancestors are remembered whether being for Manglik<\/strong> or Non Manglik Matrimony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dodhi Mongol:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On the wedding day, traditional red and white bangles are put on the hands of the bride by the seven of married women known as Shakha and Paula and she is fed with curd and rice.  To have a long and happy married life, the bride and groom perform bathing in the water provided by the married women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sacred Bath (Snan):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Bor Jatri:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here the groom with his family members, relatives, neighbors and known ones moves on to for the bride\u2019s house for the auspicious wedding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bor Boron, Baran Dala:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The groom with his important members (Bor Jatri) is given warm welcome by the mother of bride with trefoil, traditional earthen pot and the husked rice. The groom\u2019s forehead is touched with the Baran Dala. The Baran Dala is then touched to the ground and once again to his forehead. Then the groom being Manglik or Non Manglik is taken to the Mandap which is decorated well having two banana trees that are symbolism of prosperity and fertility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potto Bastra:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here the groom who is being seated in the Mandap at the Chadnatolla is given the new clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shubho Drishti and Saat Paak:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Bengali Matrimony, the bride\u2019s is supposed to not see her groom and her eyes are covered with betel leaves. The bride\u2019s brother takes her and the bride circles seven times around the groom carried by the brother. After that the bride is allowed to see the groom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mala Badal Ceremony:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here the manglik or non manglik bride<\/strong> and the groom which are being seated exchange garland for three times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subho Dristi:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here both the bride and the groom gaze into each other\u2019s eyes with love after exchanging the garlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here the puffed rice are provided to the sacred fire by both the bride and the groom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sindoor:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Bengali matrimony the groom being manglik or non manglik puts the sindoor in the middle part of the hairs. After that the bride covers his hairs with her red saree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bidaai (Farewell):<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Here the bride is given farewell from her house and goes on for the groom\u2019s house.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Basar Ghar:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Bengali Matrimony, the bride dips her feet in the mixture having red dye and milk leaving marks on the floor of house on entering the groom\u2019s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kaal Ratri:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Bengali Matrimony, the manglik or non manglik bride and groom lives separately for the first day after the wedding so that they get relax and refreshment for the ceremonies on the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bou Bhaat:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this Bengali matrimony ritual, the bride prepares the food for her groom\u2019s new family and this is her first meal in her mother in law\u2019s house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bashi Biye:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Bengali Matrimony, the married couple visits their wedding venue next day after the wedding and prays to the Sun god and seeks the blessings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Phool Shojja:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Here the wedding bed is decorated well with flowers and the couple can live the happy married life as the husband and wife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this ceremony of Manglik Matrimony, the bride\u2019s house is visited for the first time by the manglik or non manglik bride and groom<\/p>\n\n\n\n
